Alia K. Atlas

I was a graduate student in Computer Science at Boston University from September 1995 through September 1998. My major advisor was Prof. Azer Bestavros.

During my time at BU, Azer and I invented Statistical Rate Monotonic Scheduling. Our research and papers in this area can be viewed here. I also developed the SRMS Workbench, a tool to facilitate design and analysis of real-time systems. It assigns resource allocations based upon requested Quality of Service (QoS), and simulates different scheduling algorithms for comparison.

Here is a, somewhat outdated, list of interesting multimedia/communications papers.

I have other interests, primarily in historical cooking and re-creation.  Here is a  path leading to entertainment and other interests.
