Osync

Given that Tiger has gone gold and that it will have an API for isync, I will wait until I get Tiger before I add any PIM sync stuff. I realized there are other apps called Osync so the name may change in the future.

Latest .02

What is it?

This is the email I sent out to announce Osync

I've been frustrated with the sync options for OSX users, so i decided to start writing my own app that I call Osync. It is intended to sync safari, itunes, ical and address book with Opie.

This is still alpha code, but the safari sync is now somewhat useable. It saves subscribed pages to the device kind of like how advantgo does. There are still plenty of things that need to be done, but if anyone wants to play with it , it is here:

I will put it on sourceforge later. I intend to use as BSD license for this. it is still really early stuff, but let me know what you think.

In order to sync pages with safari, you need a bookmark folder call Mobile. Any pages you add in that folder will have the home pages copied to Opie. in opie a folder called Subscribed will be made in your home dir. Open index.html in any browser to access the pages. Will release a better version more like advantgo as i write it.

Thanks,
-Anu
