Let's Get Personal!

A Dapper Young Man!

For all of my latest life events and observations, read my weblog. For something a little less ephemeral, keep reading...

Who Am I? What am I doing here?

Ah, the joys of trying to address such a whimsical, metaphysical, ontological and teleological question! One scarcely knows where to begin! The very epistemology underlying the question begs to be expounded upon in volume upon volume!

I, however, lack the time (and the pretentiousness) to write such volumes. Not to say that everyone who would write such volumes is pretentious; there must be at least one or two exceptions out there.

Some people define themselves by their careers; others by their accomplishments; others by their acts of altruism; still others by how they think they will be remembered. That's all well and good; all of those things are wonderful. But I prefer to start somewhere else, or (more precisely) with someone else: Jesus Christ.

You guessed it, I'm a Christian.

I'm also a husband, a hacker, a musician, a philosopher, an author, a speaker, an insatiable reader, a student, a teacher, a leader, a political thinker, and usually either awe-struck or baffled (sometimes both) by the world around me.

I keep lots of pictures and links to family and friends around, too.

Way back in the day I donated some of my precious web space to my long-time best friend, Will McDaniel, to post his Pete Sonnets. Read them. Your life will be changed for the better, I promise.

And, for those truly fascinated with any detail you can find, I have some old tidbits of news about things that happened in 1999. Read about my haircut and my (now obsolete) fail-safe 2005 wedding plans.

I tend to work pretty strange hours in the lab. I just might be there now. Take a peek at my Webcam to find out.

September of 2003 was a momentous month for me... I became engaged to Heather Little, became the uncle of David Severin Bradley, and finished my Ph.D.. Not too shabby!
