"Pete Goes for Bread"
by Nick DeFilippo

Pete rode his bike down to the store for bread
The road he chose was rocky and a mess
He lost control and fell upon his head
For now, about the bread Pete could care less

With all the pain, poor Pete began to cry
His mom would yell if bread she did not get
About the bread Pete figured he would lie
Rain did fall, and Pete started to get wet

Pete pondered pain and wetness all that night
Alas, he knew at home there would be trouble
For with his mom Pete knew he'd have to fight
And with Pete's dad the trouble would be double

'Twas a shame, that Pete came home without the bread
He snuck into his house and went to bed.
