"Pete Gets in a Fight"
by William McDaniel

A bully bothered Pete one day at school
"Give me all your money"; this he said.
He leaned o'er Pete and then began to drool
At that moment Pete knew that he was dead

Pete ran far from the playground and from him
He told his dad of the fight at his house
His father swore he'd tear Pete limb from limb
Pete snuck upstairs, as quiet as a mouse

Pete did not want to go to school tomorrow
He knew that if he did he would be killed
Pete figured (from his dad) a gun he'd borrow!
The thought of shooting the bully made him thrilled

'Twas a shame, Pete's warrior instincts did not click
He stayed at home, pretending he was sick.
