CS-103

A CS-103 student says: "The biggest lesson I learned from my web project is that, no matter how difficult I find something, I have the ability to figure things out and do things on my own. I remember feeling helpless throughout the course of this project because I felt like I didn't know enough about making a website as amazing as some of the others. It was frustrating. But with time and patience, I was able to figure things out slowly and I am very proud of what I have accomplished this semester."

A CS-103 student says: "My site started off as basic HTML with me writing all of the HTML code. Realizing that this would be insufficient for the site that I wanted to build, however, I started looking on the web for open source options. I discovered button creators that I used to create my first navigation toolbar at the top of my website. But the buttons did little to give my site a professional look; the text on the screen was still basic HTML, and visually it looked cheap. Later, another student gave a presentation for her website and explained that she had used an open-source template for her site as well as a Dreamweaver-like program named Kompozer. That is when I found a way for my site to appear professional. Kompozer also helped me greatly because it gave me a way to edit my site easily without typing the code in manually. This was the biggest break through of my site. While the content and goals of my site have remained the same throughout the entire process, the way I have developed my site has changed drastically and the use of templates and Kompozer has led me to my final project."
