October 16th. Durga Puja is the most important festival of Bengalis. The familiar sound of Dhak, Dhunuchi nachh, the mild fragrance of Shiuli, gives a familiar tug at every Bangali heart. We went to Maynard to experience the overseas version of this celebration. On our way, we did not find any "Nodipare kash, koriche bikash ..." but we did experience the blessings of Devi among the colouful trees, clear blue sky red, yellow leaves.
