Policy on Regrading

The graders, T.F.s, and I make our best efforts to see that every homework, quiz, and exam is graded as accurately as possible. We apply the same standards to every item graded. So, please do not come to your T.F. or me with a request to regrade something based upon your interpretation of a question or answer.  Unless you can show you were somehow treated differently than the rest of the class, we will not adjust your grade.  Indeed, if you submit your homework, quiz, or exam for regrading, our policy is to reexamine the entire item, which may result in your grade being adjusted downward.

There is an exception for a clear mistake.  For example, if the answer was "C" and you put "C," but were marked wrong, or the grades were totaled up incorrectly, we will not hesitate to make appropriate adjustments.

I encourage you to put your energy into the next assignment, rather than in conjuring arguments for why past work should be regraded. Most people follow the former course, and I will not undermine them by awarding extra points to "squeaky wheels."

That being said, the T.F.s and I are available during our office hours (or by appointment) to answer any questions you may have regarding the subject matter of the course.
