My name is Emma Kim, a computer science major at Boston University. My current expected graduation is May 2024.
I am currently pursuing a career in product design, also known as UX/UI design. I would like to increase my
technical abilities in front-end development to broaden my abilities to design interfaces.
Welcome to my online website and enjoy looking around. On here, I have a bunch of stuff relating to my previous
employment and also more about me when I am not coding or designing.

BU Spark!
(Jun 2023 - Present)
This semester, I am working as a UX Design Fellow at BU Spark!. My team is currently working on a project named Hada, a language learning tool meant to teach through repetition.(Remote)
This past summer from June to August 2023, I worked as a UX Design Intern for BU Spark! on a team that was rebranding and redesigning the website Woke Windows. I reviewed and revised user stories, created user personas, designed low and high fidelity frames, and made a functioning high fidelity prototype.

Forge Design Labs
(Jun-Aug 2023)
(Remote)Over the summer, June to August 2023, I also completed an internship through Forge Design Labs, working with the client Alli Connect. For this internship, the goal was to transition from a website to a mobile web application, so I had to simplify the design from the original to fit the smaller screens. I created style and branding guides, user flow charts, low and high fidelity frames, prototypes, and functional components. Most of the designs were completed on Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Had to create wireframes and fully functional prototype to hand off to the development team. Focused on onbarding, then moved on towards the AI portion of the app. Lots of interactive components to include to display Figma proficiency. Was in constant communication with both CEO and development teams

My academic background is in computer science, providing me with strong analytical and technical skills. Additionally, I possess a solid foundation in design, which allows me to approach user experience with an appreciation for aesthetics. My focus is on crafting efficient and user-friendly interfaces by blending my technical expertise with a design-oriented perspective. You can explore my portfolio to see how I bridge the gap between form and function in the digital landscape. Besides creating lovely wireframes for different clients, I also enjoy doing photography on the side for fun. I usually shoot with my Nikon D7500, Canon G7X, or my trusty phone.
