Autobiography

My name is Ethan Quach and I am a Vietnamese-American student born and raised in Massachusetts. I was born in Melrose, but I have lived in Malden, Middleton, and now Nahant. I am attending BU because the university is close to home and my sister also went here!

Activities & Interests

Dance

I started doing dance in my freshman year at BU in BU miXx. We have a semesterly showcase with a set of around 20 different K-pop songs. Since then, I have been in 4 different K-pop dance cover teams and am going to audition for a competitive dance team called U-pro.

Poetry

In high school, I had to write a poetry assignment for an English class and found that I really enjoyed the craft. So, the next year, I took a poetry course where we dived into the various literary devices and concepts within poetry. This semester, I'm enrolled in EN 107: The Voice of Poetry. Writing poetry is very therapeutical and cathartic for me. I've also been a finalist in a youth poetry contest!

Under the Madness Magazine

My poem waas published in an e-magazine, but the website has since been deprecated.

Research

Last semester, I took a class in Computer Memory & Architecture and found the material to be really engaging. I contacted my professor and was able to obtain an opportunity in the Robomorphic Computing Lab as an undergraduate lab assistant. The overarching goal of the lab is optimizing computing in robotics for use in technology that would benefit a variety of uses, such as elderly care.
