What is Matcha?

Matcha is a green tea that originates from the Song Dynasty in China but then traveled to and became popularized in Japan.
The process of growing and harvesting Matcha is meticulous, as the leaves must be shaded a month before being harvested.
This shading process helps to give the tea its flavor and intensity in color.
