# About me
Gabriel is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Computer Science Department at Boston University, advised by Professor Mark Crovella (opens new window). He got a BSc and an MSc in Computer Science from Universidade Federal de Viçosa (opens new window), in Brazil, advised by Professor Giovanni Comarela (opens new window). Before joining BU, he worked for both Localiza (opens new window) and SEEK AIPS (opens new window), in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, as a Data Scientist.
His main research interest is machine learning, especially semi-supervised settings applied in real-world problems. Moreover, he is interested in data mining, recommender systems, and fairness in machine learning.
