JessClass Year 2026Computer Science&Advertising |
I grew up in Manila, the Philippines, which is approximately 8,000 miles away. Moving to Boston from a tropical country was definitely a big jump, and an even bigger culture shock. I decided to study in the city because my sister is currently a grad student in New York, which isn't too far away. I'm currently pursuing a degree in both Computer Science and Advertising - two polar opposite courses. The variety in assignments, from linear algebra to portoflio 101, makes every day at BU exciting, new, and fun.

Tennis |
I grew up playing competitive Lawn Tennis for 18 years. My dad played professionally, which ultimately inspired me to pick up a racket when I was 4 years old. In Boston, I don't get to play as much because of school and work, but every time I visit Manila for break I play almost every day. I'm also a huge fan of watching tennis, and I'm currently watching the Australian Open. |

Piano |
My mom was a musician in her younger years and taught me how to read notes in middle school. Eventually, I developed a knack for piano and now teach myself different pieces. Anything from broadway shows like West Side Story or Rent to pop songs from Elton John or Fleetwood Mac. |

Reading |
I am a huge fantasy, adventure, romance, young adult book worm. Some of my all-time favorite authors include Rick Riordon, Brandon Sanderson, and Cassandra Clare. One of my favorite pass times is to escape reality and pretend I'm living in the 18th century and am an assasin tasked to save the world from mass desctruction. |

Coffee!!! |
One of my favorite activites to do with friends is to visit cafes around the city in search for really good coffee. The kind that doesn't need any sweetner or flavor enhancer. My go-tos in Boston are Pavement and Thinking Cup on Newbury street. |
