Brigadeiro
A website dedicated to brigadeiro, a Brazilian chocolate dessert similar to fudge.
It is my favorite food because it is delicious, but especially because it reminds me of my childhood.
It can also be used as icing for cake, eaten with fruit, or layered with biscuits.
On this website, I will include the recipe to make brigadeiro truffles.
Ingredients
- Butter (1 tablespoon)
- Sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
- Powdered chocolate (1 oz)
- Chocolate sprinkles (5 oz)
Preparation
- In a pan, mix the condensed milk and powdered chocolate.
- Over medium heat, add the butter, mixing until the mixture is thick and fudgy, unsticking from the bottom of the pan. It should take around 10 minutes. You can tell it is ready by scraping the bottom of the pan, and if it takes a couple of seconds for the mixture to cover the space left by the scraping, it is a good consistency.
- Turn off the heat and let cool.
- When it is completely cool, put the sprinkles on a plate and cover your hands with butter.
- Scoop a small amount of brigadeiro, shaping it in your hand so it becomes spherical.
- Roll the sphere on the chocolate sprinkles so it is fully covered, then put it in a miniature baking cup.
