Known for its many traditional Korean houses, several art galleries and cafes can be found in various nooks and crannies.

The blooming cherry blossoms gives the spring neighborhood a calming and picturesque atmosphere.

Many river-side parks can be found strewn across Seoul.

The neighborhood of Ihwa pictured above is no exception; a young girl enjoys playing as her guardian watches on.

Ihwa is also well known for its mural village, with many artworks and paintings of ~70 artists adorn the streets.

Alongside cherry blossoms and forsythia bushes, gingko trees also play a major role in painting Seoul with colorful hues.

Public parks are numerous in Seoul, and in mountainous regions, clean water fountains are also offerend.

The park pictured above is on Namsan, a mountain which offeres many hiking and picnic areas with panoramic views of Seoul.

Jongmyo shrine is recognized by UNESCO as a cultural heritage site, as it is home to all the spirit tablets of royalty from the Joseon dynasty.

As a Confucian royal shrine, it was built in the late 14th century but destroyed during the Japanese invasion during the 16th century due to its national value.

Fortunately it was rebuilt in the early 17th century, and is still maintained to this day, and symbolizes the resilience and persistent strength of the Korean people.

Gwangjang market is especially well known for their authentic goodness when it comes to Korean street food.

As one the oldest functioning Korean markets, it continues to bustle with life as locals and tourists from all over come together to partake in gastronomic goodness.
