HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

I AM

One of the biggest challenges I've had to overcome as an artist and an individual is the belief that I am what other people tell me. From as far back as I remember, I was a people pleaser. I would contort my thoughts, values, body, and personhood to align with those I admired around me, hoping that they would like me if I was more like them. Turns out, most people do not appreciate looking at a mirror.

Growing up, I was constantly bombarded with negative opinions and reactions about pursuing art or expressing myself in any "improper" way. As a result, my confidence in my own abilities eroded. I still question whether I am good enough to follow my dreams, or pursue anything really. I am scared.

Yet, that very fear drove me to "make something out of myself". Gradually... my perspective changed. I no longer was repulsed while flipping through my sketchbooks or photos. In lieu, I began to appreciate my art. I realized that I did not worry about what "the others" would think about my work. I loved the remnants of my personality that I left on my sketches for those who can see. I made something out of myself by myself to myself.
Treasure is in the eye of the beholder.

In short, when you do not like something: that's okay, take your time... see what you do like, and remind yourself that you can always change but you do not necessarily have to.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and learn more about my journey. I invite you to explore my art and discover the beauty and strength that comes from believing in yourself. I hope my story resonates with you and reminds you of your own potential. :)
