Day at the Beach
Whether you are in Waikiki or the North Shore, anyone can enjoy the beautiful ocean and soft sand of Hawaii beaches!
Some local favorite beaches:
- White Walls,
- Ala Moana Beach,
- Queens Beach
Go back in time: History of Hawaii
Hawaii was once a royal kingdom. But what happened? Visit historic sites and learn
about Hawaii's past right where it all took place, Honolulu.
Some popular historic places:
- The Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum: museum of history and science since 1889.
- Pali Lookout: scenic site and place of the Battle of Nu'uanu.
- 'Iolani Palace: resident for royal Hawaiian family, only royal palace in U.S. opened in 1879.
- Pearl Harbor National Memorial (outskirts of Honolulu): tour and history of Pearl Harbor.
Hiking
When in a beautiful, tropical place, why not enjoy it? There are numerous hikes around the island, easy to hard, for everyone.
While you can stay in Honolulu, better views are found on the East and West sides of the island. Most hikes are less
than 30 minutes from town and all lead to stunning views of the island!
My favorite hikes so far:
- Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail: Easy paved path in Makapu'u.
- Koko Head: Moderately difficult upward stairway trail in Hawaii Kai.
- Lanikai Pillbox: Moderate uphill hike to pillboxes in Kailua.
