Seoul, Korea

This webpage is all about some of my favorite places in Seoul!

Hyangwonjeong Pavilion
Hyangwonjeong Pavilion, Gyeongbokgung Palace

This image shows us the pavilion constructed on an artificial island which is located inside the Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. The Gyeongbokgung Palace was the main royal palace in Joseon Dynasty. The palace is one of the largest and most striking out of the 5 grand palaces built during the Joseon Dynasty. It is still arguably the most beautiful palaces where numerous movies or music videos were filmed at. The pavilion was built on the orders of King Gojong around 1873, and it is thought to have acted as a place of leisure and relaxation for the royals.

View from Namsan Tower

Namsan tower is one of the Top 500 attractions of the world , and the greatest symbol of Seoul. The tower has a 360 degree panoramic view to admire the majestic views of Seoul. It is especially beautiful in autumn and spring, when the trees turn into bright vivid colors. It is an iconic observation and communication tower that offers you beautiful glimpses of the city. The peak of the tower is almost 480 m (1575 ft) above the sea level, making it one of the tallest towers in Korea.

Manmankokoro at Hongdae

Manmankokoro is one of the best casual restaurants in Hongdae in Seoul. Hongdae is also known to be one of the places that is located in the heart of Korea. When I went here with my friends, we had such a great time with amazing comfort food that any one can easily enjoy. The restaurant is themed like the Japanese animated fantasy "Spirited Away" and it is known for their beautiful interior, decorated in cherry blossoms. This restaurant was also one of the places where the kDrama 'Itaewon Class' was filmed.

Jangin Dakgalbi

Dakgalbi is a spicy stir-fried chicken dish made with boneless chicken pieces, rice cakes (tteokbokki tteok), and some vegetables. Dak means chicken, and galbi means ribs. It is a slightly sweet, spicy, and umami-rich chicken stir-fry that is packed with fresh vegetables. It is intensely flavored, very delicious, and super simple to make. The restaurant Jangin Dakgalbi makes their dish with a pool of cheese in the middle so if the chicken tastes too spicy, you can dip it in the cheese pool and enjoy it to your taste!

Banpo Bridge
View from Banpo Bridge at Han River

The Banpo Bridge is one of the many bridges that is on top of the Han River in Seoul. It is covered with 10,000 lights, and it is known for its Rainbow Fountain which is colored water that rain downs in messy arcs from the double-decker bridge. Spanning 1140m, it's the world's longest fountain, and is best viewed from Banpo Hangang Park.

Sinbi Galbisal

Galbisal a.k.a Beef Rib Fingers is well-known for its tenderness and is definitely a must-try at Korean barbecue. Grill it to perfection, and you'll have one of the softest pieces of meat. The dishes like almost in any other barbecue places in Korea, are served charcoal-grilled for you to enjoy. All the side dishes make the best combination to eat with the beef. This is one of the must dishes I eat everytime I go back home to Korea.
