Japan has been one of the popular countries to visit for many people because of
sakura (cherry blossom), onsen (hot springs), and abundant Japanese cuisine
Start of the Journey
In 2019, I visited Kyoto and Nara with my cousins. Before the trip, I came up with a detailed plan including attractions to visit, food we must have, and transportation. Thanks to my comprehensive travel plan, we had a great time in Japan. I will introduce my trip to Japan in three sections: attractions, foods and drinks, and an interesting story during the trip.
Attractions
Our first stop was Kyoto, which was the capital of Japan in the past. We visited Fushimi-Inari Taisha during the first day, which is a shrine worshiping the god of agriculture and business. Nara, a place less than one hour drive away from Kyoto, was our second stop. In Nara, we visited Nara Park.
Foods and Drinks
In terms of food, I tried a lot of different foods in Japan but my favorite dishes were ramen and Sukiyaki. The weirdest dish was puffer fish hot pot, because I think it tastes like chicken breast. In addition, we explored different drinks everyday from convenience stores and vending machines. Photos at the bottom of the page include some of the foods and drinks we had during the trip.
An Interesting Story
Once in Kyoto, we got lost and traveled to an unknown suburb area, since timetables for subways were hard to understand. The photo on the left side is a timetable in Kyoto station. There were different types of subways passing this station, such as express, local, semi-express etc. It turned out that we got onto the subway which traveled in the opposite direction of where we intended to go. Also, we should have taken the local one instead of the express, since the express train did not even stop at the station we intended to go.
